After Israel's defense minister, Ehud Barak, are known to conduct secret talks with cabinet colleagues in the U.S., is now the turn of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned Europe. In a meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Jerusalem, he declared that the unrest in Egypt could bring the power of radical Islam back on the reins of power, repeating the scenario that occurred during the Iranian revolution in 1979.

"We are terstabil in this region," Netanyahu said on Merkel. "Our concern is that when there is rapid change, without all the aspects of a modern democracy involved, amaka pa that will happen - and has happened in Iran - will the emergence of radical Islamic oppressive regime," said Netanyahu.

On Sunday night Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle met German Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman in Tel Aviv. "Israel is the only country to implement democracy in the region and is therefore important to improve our alliance," said Westerwelle.
